Plan to Attend The Corps Network Annual Corps Forum
February 10-13, 2008 - Washington, DC


FORUM ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE: The Forum will open on Sunday, February 10th, at 2:00 pm with registration beginning at Noon. The Forum will close on Wednesday, February 13th at 11:00 am, providing ample time for you to check out and make afternoon flights home.

PRE-FORUM ACTIVITIES: As in previous years, prior to the opening of the Forum on Sunday, February 10th, The Corps Network will host a CEO-Only Open Space Retreat from 9:00 am -12:30 pm and a New and Emerging Corps Seminar from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The registration cost for each of these pre-Forum events is $35.

SPECIAL SESSIONS – Tuesday, February 12:
Civic Justice Corps Seminar: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm*
This session is intended for those Corps that are already participating in the Civic Justice Corps Initiative sponsored by The Corps Network, the US Department of Labor, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and the Open Society Institute. If you are not from one of these sites and would like to participate in this session, please contact Patricia Gill (
pgill@corpsnetwork.org) prior to registering.

Corps Respond Seminar: 9:30 am – Noon*
This session is intended for the seven Corps that are already participating in the joint CNCS/The Corps Network sponsored program designed to prepare members to train others in emergency/disaster preparedness. If you are not from one of these sites and would like to participate in this session, please contact Leslie Wilkoff (
lwilkoff@corpsnetwork.org) prior to registering.

Inclusive Crew Project Seminar: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
This session is intended for the three Corps that are participating in the joint Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation/The Corps Network sponsored project designed to implement an inclusive program model. If you are not from one of these three sites and would like to participate in this session, please contact Matt Ferris (
mferris@corpsnetwork.org) prior to registering.

*Please note: Anyone traveling to the Forum on funds provided through Federal grants, including state commission projects and programs, may not spend time on Capitol Hill for lobbying purposes.

TRAVEL/HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS: Each participant is responsible for his/her own transportation arrangements and hotel costs. Local airports: Reagan National (DCA), Baltimore-Washington (BWI) and Dulles (IAD). National is a short cab or Metro ride from DC. BWI and Dulles are further and more costly via cab. BWI and Dulles are not accessible via Metro.

You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. The reservations deadline is January 11th. Reservations may be made by one of theseways:
• Log on via the internet using
http://www.fairmont.com/EN_FA/Reservations/ReservationAvailability?hc=WDC&pc=GRCNF1 which brings you directly to the hotel’s reservation site. Select your travel dates and be sure that the group code assigned to the meeting, GRCNF1, is found in the group box.
• Access The Fairmont’s reservations site through The Corps Network’s website.
• Access The Fairmont’s reservations site through the registration page.
• Call The Fairmont Hotel’s toll free reservations line @ 1-888-441-1414and ask for The Corps Network’s 2008 Annual Forum rate ($199/single/double) plus tax (be sure to use the group code, GRCNF1).
• Call The Fairmont Hotel’s in-house reservations department @ 202-429-2400 and ask for The Corps Network’s 2008 Annual Forum rate ($199/single/double) plus tax (be sure to use the group code, GRCNF1).

Please check out The Fairmont Hotel online at www.fairmont.com. The hotel is located at 2401 M Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037 just blocks away from the Foggy Bottom Metro station. Check-in is 4:00 pm and check-out is 1:00 pm. Valet parking is available at the hotel. Check with The Fairmont Hotel for day/night parking rates (202-429-2400).

FAIRMONT PRESIDENT’S CLUB: Fairmont President Club (FPC) is the guest loyalty program intended to recognize The Fairmont’s frequent guests. There are no enrollment or annual fees. Some of the benefits FPC members receive include:
• Members-only express check-in and check-out
• Complimentary local calls and no service charge on 1-800 calls
• Complimentary Health Club access (excludes spas)
• Complimentary high speed Internet access in guest rooms


For those attendees who will be staying at The Fairmont Hotel, we encourage you to sign up for the program, by going to www.fairmont.com and clicking on the Fairmont President’s Club tab. You will be asked to fill out some basic information. When prompted to fill out the “Hotel Invitation,” you should select The Fairmont Washington, DC. The whole process takes about five minutes and you will be issued an FPC number immediately. Enrollment in The Fairmont President’s Club must be done PRIOR to your arrival date in order for the benefits to apply to your stay. If you enroll during your stay, benefits will apply to your next stay at any Fairmont hotel. (Please note that The Corps Network has a three year contract with The Fairmont Washington, DC.)

REGISTRATION FEE: See the accompanying registration form for the appropriate fee. To qualify for the member rate your FY08 dues must be paid before the Forum. Otherwise, you must have sent a purchase order or are on the installment plan. If you’re not sure of your status, call Leslie Wilkoff at (202) 737-6272. January 11, 2008 is the deadline for early registration fee and hotel reservations. Meals included with the registration fee are as follows:
Sunday: Snacks and Dinner;
Monday: Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks;
Tuesday: Capitol Hill Breakfast and evening Capitol Hill Reception;
Wednesday: Breakfast.

If you would like to bring a guest to the Sunday night dinner, you may do so at a cost of $60 (see registration form). Your meal is included in the registration fee.

REFUNDS: Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to Nancy Siegal before January 31st. A $50 processing fee will be deducted from your refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations after that date.
